\u201cYou invest time in people…you really put an emphasis on being the very best version of you…no matter what school you\u2019re at\u201d (13:53).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through summer camps, daily effort, and staying loyal, Wilson built a reputation others trusted\u2014even at schools where he had no direct connection. \u201cThe greatest quality I believe that you can have as an assistant coach is loyalty to the head football coach and his mission\u201d (04:44).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when former bosses speak highly of you, doors open. For Wilson, those endorsements led him from Ashland to Wayne State, Indiana State, and now South Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wilson\u2019s story proves that success isn\u2019t about chasing the next big title. His first break at Ashland came from a simple introduction made by his then-girlfriend. That connection sparked a career. Later moves happened the same way: quietly, relationally, and on the strength of how his teams played and how he carried himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were able to get to Wayne [State] because of maybe the way that our guys had played…and the background [Coach Winters] had with Lee Owens\u201d (10:49).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hard work, loyalty, and professionalism\u2014not flashy r\u00e9sum\u00e9s\u2014earned him trust. And that trust led to opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
