On Friday nights, the best offenses don\u2019t just call plays\u2014they attack defensive structure. Two of the most effective tools for achieving this are Empty Formations<\/em> and Formation Into the Boundary (FIB)<\/em>. These alignments don\u2019t just spread the field\u2014they dictate defensive response, reveal coverage rules, and create the mismatches every playcaller looks for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading the Defense Through Empty<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Every defense reveals its identity before the snap. When an offense lines up in Empty, it immediately tests how that defense handles space, pressure, and leverage.
