Loren Montgomery, Best of 2024- Head Coach, Bixby HS (OK)

Today on our Best and Favorites of 2024, we look back at our Champions Series presented by Signature Championship Rings.  We highlighted over 40 state championship programs in 2024 including the Bixby Spartans led by Loren Montgomery.

The Spartans won the 2024 Oklahoma 6A State Championship in dramatic fashion. Down by one point after scoring a touchdown on their overtime possession, the Spartans went for two and converted for the walk-off win 43-42

With the win, Bixby won its third straight gold ball after moving up to 6A-I. The Spartans have also won seven straight championships and 10 titles over the past 11 seasons.

We will certainly be calling Coach Montgomery to have him back on the Champions Series in 2025.

Our partner Signature Championship Rings will be back to present this series, and we will be sharing the insight and perspective of state champions in a roundtable format. That means over 150 state champions will be sharing their philosophy, strategy, and methods in 2025.

Congratulations again to Coach Montgomery and the Bixby Spartans. After listening to this episode you will understand more about Bixby and why they do it so well.

On today’s Champions Series presented by Signature Championship Rings, Head Coach Loren Montgomery from Bixby High School discusses the success of their football program, focusing on developing student-athletes and emphasizing processes over outcomes. They prioritize early foundational training, positive reinforcement, multi-sport participation, and consistent coaching. The program’s strength and conditioning initiatives, strategic plays by offensive coordinator Tyler Schneider, and a culture of continuous improvement contribute to their nine state championships. Coach Montgomery underscores the program’s commitment to removing barriers and providing individualized support for student-athletes’ success on and off the field, fostering a growth-oriented environment.
