The Mushroom Society series welcomes Thom McDaniels to the podcast this week. Coach McDaniels is the father Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Josh McDaniels and Houston Texans Wide Receivers Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Ben McDaniels. Thom, now retired, was a 40-year veteran of the coaching profession and is a member of the Ohio High School Coaches Hall of Fame.

Thom McDaniels enjoyed an illustrious 40-year coaching career (26 as a head coach), and still impacts the next generation of football players and coaches. Some know him as the father of Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Josh McDaniels and Houston Texans Wide Receivers Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Ben McDaniels. But Thom himself had a hall of fame career, inducted into the Ohio High School Coaches Hall of Fame. His most notable head coaching stop was at Canton McKinley High School (OH), where the Bulldogs won the 1997 Ohio State Championship and National Championship. McDaniels was named USA Today Coach of the Year for the 1997 season.
